The series kicks off on August 9th and continues tomorrow, August 10th, with the grand finale scheduled for September 21st, 2024. The event, themed “Swing Your Way to Greatness,” aims to bring together golf enthusiasts from diverse backgrounds.

The NCBA Rwanda Golf Series represents a key milestone for both NCBA Group and Rwanda’s growing golfing community. As one of the region’s leading financial institutions, NCBA is leveraging this series to deepen its commitment to sports development and contribute to Rwanda’s economic growth.

“We are thrilled to introduce the NCBA Golf Series, a testament to our dedication to Rwanda’s sports progress,” NCBA Rwanda Head of Business, Diana Mukunde said during the official launch.

The series also serves as a strategic platform for the bank to bolster its brand visibility and foster stronger customer engagement. By hosting this event, NCBA Rwanda aims to position itself as a central player within both the local business and sports communities.

“Golf is more than a sport; it’s a platform for networking, community building, and economic advancement. We are thrilled to have both NCBA and the media here to support the game and spread it to those who don’t know about it,” President of the Kigali Golf Club, Byusa Marcel, said.

NCBA’s deep-rooted commitment to golf is evident through its extensive sponsorships in Kenya, where it backs national teams, supports clubs, and hosts over 50 golf events annually. The series has also gained considerable traction in Uganda and Tanzania, attracting hundreds of participants. Bringing this series to Rwanda for the first time underscores NCBA’s growing prominence in the Rwandan market, as the bank continues to be the fastest-growing subsidiary within the group.

“Beyond sports and business, golf embodies health, wellness, etiquette, and discipline. We are proud to have this partnership that will take golf to the next level in Rwanda and the region,” Captain of Kigali Golf Club, Andrew Kulayige, noted.
