Litt+ is set to revolutionize the car-sharing industry with its impending launch in Rwanda by the end of 2024. Positioned as a pioneering platform akin to Airbnb for cars, Litt+ is poised to introduce a new era of mobility, offering innovative solutions tailored for the Rwandan market.
According to Kevin Zoa Sparker, CEO of Litt+, the platform as a cutting-edge solution for peer to peer car rentals.
“Our application allows individuals to rent and lease vehicles on an hourly basis through a streamlined and efficient interface,” Sparker explains. This model aims to simplify car-sharing and broaden access to reliable transportation options.
Litt+ is designed to advance several key objectives. Foremost, it seeks to enhance mobility for both local residents and international visitors in Kigali, aligning with the city’s smart city aspirations. By offering a flexible, user-friendly transportation option, Litt+ contributes to the development of an advanced urban mobility network.
The app also aims to provide economic benefits to local users by creating new income opportunities. Vehicle owners can earn passive income by listing their cars on the platform, thereby generating additional revenue streams. This initiative supports Rwanda’s economic growth by enabling residents to invest in their future through supplementary earnings.
Furthermore, Litt+ aspires to build a sense of community among its users. Much like the impact Airbnb has had in fostering local connections, Litt+ intends to strengthen bonds between car owners and renters, promoting a shared sense of purpose and mutual benefit. This community-focused approach could further integrate Litt+ into the social and economic fabric of Kigali and the broader region.
When they launched in mid-2018, Volkswagen’s launched car-sharing product, Move, that shares similarities with Litt+. While Move has established a foothold in various markets, Litt+ aims to leverage this expertise to address the specific needs of the Rwandan market and beyond.
Looking ahead, Litt+ plans to expand into neighboring countries such as Tanzania, Kenya, and Namibia, as well as emerging markets like Kazakhstan and Jordan. “Our ambition is to evolve into a Pan-African enterprise with global aspirations over the next decade,” Sparker asserts.
Litt+ is set to make a significant impact on Rwanda’s transportation ecosystem, potentially reshaping car-sharing dynamics across the continent and reinforcing the company’s position as a leader in mobility innovation.
